WHO WE ARE
The Indonesia Sustainable Tourism Council (ISTC) is a non-profit, multi-disciplinary platform dedicated to advancing sustainable tourism development (STDev) in Indonesia. Established through a national dialogue initiated in 2013, ISTC is the continuation of ideas set forth by two visionary ministers: Mari Elka Pangestu and the late I Gede Ardika.
OUR FOUNDATION
The inception of ISTC was inspired by the late I Gede Ardika’s belief that tourism must benefit people, preserve culture, and protect the environment. As a formal platform, ISTC was born from the 2013 Communication Forum on Sustainable Tourism Development, aiming to unify stakeholders across government, academia, business, and communities.
